Rangebook privacy policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

Rangebook is a logbook for your firearms, range days, cleaning, licenses and ammunition. It is made by Beels Technologies, LLC. This page says what happens to what you put in it.

The short version

Rangebook has no account, no server, no ads, no tracking and no analytics. What you log is stored on your device and included in its regular backups. We never see it.

What stays on your device

Everything you enter: your firearms and their serial numbers, range days, rounds, people you shoot with, cleanings, repairs, licenses and their numbers, ammunition, notes and photos. It is stored on your device.

Your device’s regular backups include it, the same as every other app’s data. That means iCloud Backup if you have it turned on, or a backup to your computer. Those backups are between you and Apple, and you control them in your device’s settings.

If you delete the app, everything it stored on the device goes with it.

What leaves your device, and why

Only three things, all to Apple, and only to do what you asked:

  • Apple Weather. When you log a range day at a range that is on the map, the app sends that place and the hour of your trip to Apple Weather, so the weather can fill itself in.
  • Apple Maps. When you search for a range or type its address, the app sends what you typed to Apple Maps to find the place. If you tap “Use where I am now”, it uses your location once, while you are using the app, to fill in the address. Rangebook never tracks your location in the background.
  • The App Store. Logging new range days needs a subscription, and Apple handles the purchase. The app asks the App Store whether your Apple Account has the subscription and when it renews or ends, and keeps that answer on your device. We never see your payment details.

Nothing about your firearms, serial numbers, rounds, people, licenses or photos is ever sent anywhere.

Things you choose to share

When you export spreadsheet files or a PDF report, the file goes only where you send it with the share sheet. Serial and license numbers are left out of exports unless you choose to include them, and photos in reports carry no location.

Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode

App lock is on from the start, and Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode is handled by your device. Rangebook never sees or stores your face, your fingerprint or your passcode.

Reminders

Cleaning and license reminders are scheduled on your device. There is no reminder server. You can choose discreet reminders that do not name the firearm or the license.

Children

Rangebook is not made for children. It collects nothing from anyone, children included.

Changes

If how Rangebook handles your information ever changes, this page will change first, with a new date at the top.
